Modular Production in Practice – From MTP to OpenDCS

How can modular automation make process production more flexible, scalable and future-proof? In this talk, we explore how Module Type Package (MTP) can simplify engineering, reduce commissioning time and make it easier to adapt production systems to changing operational needs.

Using practical industry examples, we show how standardized module integration works in practice. The session also introduces OpenDCS and discusses how software-defined automation architectures can address brownfield integration, vendor lock-in and heterogeneous system landscapes.
