Over 75 years of corporate history and more than 4,000 employees in 30 countries: since its establishment as purely a trading company in the middle of the twentieth century Lenze has developed into a globally leading automation company for mechanical engineering. Drawing on its solution expertise as a systems provider, Lenze develops with and for its customers high-quality mechatronic products, powerful systems consisting of hardware and software for successful automation and digitalisation services in areas such as big data management, cloud and mobile solutions, as well as software to shape the Internet of Things (IoT).

But our activities do not focus exclusively on the marketing of products and services. The area of research and development is a further key area of our business and is pursued by our employees at a world class level at eight international facilities. Lenze enjoys a decisive competitive advantage thanks to cooperation with IT and software specialists from encoway and logicline, the two digitalisation subsidiaries of the company. This advantage will particularly come into play in connection with the Strategy 2020+, as Lenze will increase its investments in the context of Industry 4.0 over the coming years, with the aim of further increasing revenues and profitability.

First and foremost, we are an automation partner for our customers around the world and empower the Smart Factory. We have a broadly diversified range of products, systems and services. We equip car factories as well as we develop highly automated baggage handling solutions for airports and advise mechanical engineering companies from the first idea for a machine or production through to maintenance. Lenze provides mechatronic products, automation systems and digital services from one single source. This is what distinguishes us.

What drives us

For us, it is clear that sustainable and responsible corporate growth can only be achieved in harmony with the regional economic areas. The most recent example is the Mechatronic Competence Campus (MCC) opened in 2022, which is a central component of our global growth strategy and, simultaneously, a commitment to the Extertal region, one of our first production sites.

Sustainability is a question of attitude and a central field of action in our strategy for the future and for growth. We believe that the companies that will win economically in the future will be those that take sustainability seriously and systematically implement this challenging long-term task. In the coming years, a clear roadmap will lead us step by step toward climate neutrality. The European Green Deal sets the legal framework for this.

Digitalization for greater sustainability in industry

With a share of 30 percent, industry is a major energy consumer. The potential for savings is enormous. We help machine builders and operators to greatly reduce wasteful use of energy. How do we do that specifically? With the digital twin and machine data. From this, we precisely extract the data we need for energy optimization. Using this small data and our domain expertise, we reduce energy consumption. Extrapolated to all production machines and conveyor systems, industry can save up to 50 percent energy with our approach!
